Family Heirlooms

I may have posted this picture before, but not where it hangs in our house. This is a picture of my great-granparents, Tobias and Sophia Gustafson. Many years ago, my folks broght an old steamer trunk home from "the Farm" in Minnesota. Had some old "stuff" in it, but don't recall what all. (I have that trunk, too. Will post pix of that later) This picture was in there, so I assume the trunk belonged to Sophia. She lived on the farm her last years, until she had to go into a rest home. I remember visiting her there as a young child. She seemed sweet, to me anyway. About all I remember. Anyway, mom broght this home, and took it apart to restore the frame. Behind this picture was another picture, of just Tobias. He's younger in this picture. I've never been able to find another antique frame the right size and shape to put it in.

Mom did a great job restoring this frame. It was pretty sad, the paint cracking and flaking off. It's showing it's age again, but still pretty presentable. I have this picture hanging in our living room. I'm very proud to display it.
